Gary deserves better.

There are moments when the condition of a community tells you something about how that community has been valued. Watching thousands of people in Gary go days and, for some, nearly two weeks without power is one of those moments.

Black communities have contributed to this country in every imaginable way. Through our labor, businesses, military service, public service, culture, families, taxes and generations of people simply getting up every morning and doing their part.

At some point, contribution should be met with care.

I know Gary. I know the strength of its people. And I know they’ll do what Black communities have done far too many times before: organize, help one another and figure out how to survive.

But resilience shouldn’t become an excuse for neglect.

I’m praying for Gary, and I’m looking forward to the day when the story isn’t simply about how Gary saved itself again, but about what changed so its people never have to endure something like this again.

Over the last decade, I've seen businesses and institutions oscillate between their outreach and media priorities. Usually, it's driven by a need for a quick fix in order to support a strategic initiative, not build long-term relationships. Often, it's a short-sighted approach to executing a long-term vision. It’s tempting to treat media as just a way to boost your likes and views, but its greatest power goes far beyond surface-level metrics. Media serves as an essential platform for building sustainable relationships, generating original assets, and driving genuine impact.

Every time you post, comment, or interact on Facebook, you’re doing more than participating; you’re creating opportunities to:

• Earn your audience’s trust
• Develop and sustain your community
• Forge meaningful relationships that last digitally and IRL (In real Life)

Focus on what matters most: the lasting connections you nurture, not just the numbers you see.

If you want to have a lasting influence? Start now by connecting intentionally, answering questions, sharing valuable knowledge, and supporting your network openly.

Well, here we are, the last day of 2022! This year has been full of change and adversity, looking back there wasn't one month where something majorly challenging and difficult wasn't happening.

I've grown tremendously, cried a lot, and prayed even more. I'm finally at a place where I'm taking deep full breaths. That being said I'm ending my hiatus and returning to Empoweryou Podcast with more clarity, determination, and enthusiasm.

I'm deeply grateful for you, your time, and your Support & Listenership. It means a lot more than words can fully express!

2022 tried to take everything from me!! I can’t even tell you how fortunate I am to be living my best life one day at a time!

The year 32 for me, means that I made past some of the most difficult years of my life (2020 & 2022) I’ve grown so much I can’t even explain it! God has shown me favor and continued to open doors and give me strength to focus on the next step in my journey rather than obsessing over the things that didn’t go “right”.

I’m stronger 💪🏾
More Focused ⚡️
Wiser 😊🧎🏾
And More fit to reach my goals than I ever have been!! 💪🏾😎🔋
