THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I HAVE HEARD⁠

"Well my doctor told me there is not much I can do about it besides take the prescription."⁠

Okay yes- there are times and places for prescriptions- and hear me out- they can be LIFE SAVING. However, our current medical system stinks at preventing and managing chronic conditions. ⁠

We have to be more proactive. We have to make changes before it's too late. We have to address diet, lifestyle, stress levels, environmental factors, sleep, the immune system, genetics, gut health, and so much more.⁠


I am hopeful that if we continue to advocate for ourselves and our families, that we will change the current medical model- in time. That is my prayer for my sweet baby's generation. ⁠

Hi, I'm Taylor and if you don't already know I am passionate about all things health and wellness. ⁠

I wasn't always this way. In fact, in college I loved whataburger and Route 44 cherry limeades from sonic- aka I was not mindful of what I put in my body or on my body.⁠

This all changed once I got sick and my eyes were opened to the power of healing through nutrition, supplements, mindset, and environment. ⁠

I address all of these things when I work with individuals 1:1. And a big part of what I do is functional and specialized laboratory testing. We test things such as hormones, adrenals (cortisol), gut, food sensitivities, nutrients minerals, antioxidants, metabolism, and genetics. ⁠

You should save this post for the next time you go to your doctor⁠

If you cannot work with a functional medicine provider, these are the labs at minimum I would suggest you get annually. ⁠

✔️Full thyroid panel: Tsh, Free T3, Free T4 (antibodies if you suspect autoimmunity or have a family history) ⁠

✔️Vitamin D: This can help increase your mood, immune system and even bone health. By doing this lab, you can figure out exactly what amount of Vitamin D you should take. ⁠

✔️Complete Blood Count (CBC): this shows everything from white blood cells, to anemia, hemoglobin, and platelets. ⁠

✔️Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP): looks at blood sugar, liver, kidneys and your fluid and electrolyte balance.⁠

✔️Iron panel: This often gets overlooked, especially in menstruating females, always check ferritin ⁠as part of the panel. ⁠

✔️Lipid Panel: This can show your levels of good and bad cholesterol . ⁠

🍋drink lemon water when you wake up⁠

🍊drink organic green juice (mainly vegetables)⁠

🍋take an epsom salt/baking soda bath⁠

🍊dry brush⁠

🍋sweat- either from a workout or infrared sauna like @sunlightensaunas ⁠

🍊ditch toxic products you use on your skin ⁠

🍋swap to natural deodorant like @native ⁠

🍊incorporate flaxseed in your smoothies⁠

🍋take glutathione- my favorite brand is @readisorb⁠

🍊eat your veggies⁠

Let me be real for a second⁠

Life is not always rainbows and butterflies, no matter what this app may portray. Behind the beautiful pictures and crafty captions, real life happens. I desire to be a source of health and wellness information, encouragement and joy but never want to give off the notion that life is perfect, because it's not. ⁠

This past week was tough balancing work and mom life. This sweet boy was sick for truly the first time and the juggle/struggle was real. ⁠

I found myself doing 3-4 steam showers a day, meeting with patients, then running home on lunch breaks to check on little buddy, doing oils, the humidifier, salt baths, supplements-all the things. It was HARD but it is always WORTH it. The sleepless nights, the long days in the office, they are so worth the wins that are happening in my patients health journeys and the joy that Ryder brings me daily. ⁠

When you are truly living out your passions- you will know. Even when the going gets hard- it is STILL WORTH IT. ⁠

Can't make it through that book without crying- yall mamas feel me?! But no really, how is my 8 month baby almost 1/2 my size. Looks like he will be taking after his daddy in height.⁠

It literally gets better everyday. He is loving all of mamas veggie creations and dads snuggles. He lights up around our lab and constantly is trying to sneak him food from the highchair. ⁠

1. DRINK FILTERED WATER. Over 65% of our bodies are made of water so this is incredibly important. We use a @berkey_filters in our home for drinking water. ⁠
