How did Cattle Country Media get its name? What is the story behind Cattle Country Media?I am a 4th generation Fort Worthian, born and raised. Fort Worth is my home. I have always been a country girl at heart. I grew up riding horses and just loving everything about the lifestyle. Being around and on horses is my happy place. 🤩
But our story goes back even farther than that. My mom and her 3 siblings were raised in town and spent weekends working on a cattle ranch just northwest of town. My grandfather purchased the land and spent the last couple years of his life raising cattle. The ranch’s official name is the Open Bar Ranch but is often referred to as the Hired Hand Ranch. My grandfather being a Radiologist, designed the brand to be a replica of the symbol used on architectural drawings for a radiology machine (swipe 👉🏼 to see the brand). Fast forward many years and I wanted to know more about my family history and about the ranch. I grew up hearing so many stories, but I always wanted to know how my family even came about purchasing the land and why. So, after many conversations with my mom and uncles, I finally felt connected to my roots. I felt a sense of pride with it, as I could finally understand all the why’s and how’s I’d been asking myself for so many years. One of my uncles brought me one of the actual cattle brands (swipe 👉🏼 to see a picture) and I was able to make a digital copy of the brand. So, as I was trying to come up with a name for my new social media company, I wanted something that displayed my love for Fort Worth, my love for the western lifestyle, and represented my family history. Lucky for me, Fort Worth and my family have one major thing in common… CATTLE. So, that is how I got the Cattle part of the name. I decided on adding the Country because Fort Worth is where the West begins, and while Fort Worth is growing rapidly there is still a lot of land and tradition that surrounds us.… and that is how Cattle Country Media got its name! ❤️😊
