Beginning on Monday, July 28, Tarrant County crews will be in the City beginning road maintenance work on several White Settlement streets. This is part of the City’s agreement with Tarrant County that allows us to utilize their crews and equipment, drastically reducing the price of otherwise costly street repair and maintenance. They will be working on Dale Lane from West Point Blvd to I-30, the 8100 block of Richard, Albert St, Tinsley, Rumfield between Downe and Gibbs, and Kender Lane from North Ridge to Mirike. The focus of this maintenance work will be chip sealing, a pavement surface treatment process that seals the road and can extend the life of the surface by up to a decade. The work will begin on Monday and is expected to be completed on Friday, August 1. If traveling in these areas next week, please pay close attention for traffic signage and work vehicles.

We are aware of an evolving incident just north of our city in the 8100 block of Heron Drive. While we are not directly involved, the situation remains under the control and investigation of the Fort Worth Police Department. There is a significant police presence along N. Las Vegas Trail and Heron Drive. Updates will come from FWPD when appropriate. We are not aware of any safety impacts to neighborhoods just south of the incident area in our city. Heron Drive is closed at this time.

UPDATE - Suspect has been arrested for Aggravated Robbery and charged with this incident. The victim is still hospitalized.

Our team is working a shooting in the 600 block of Meadow Park that occurred around 8:11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The investigation is still ongoing at this time. One victim has been transported to a local hospital with injuries related to gunshot wounds. A person has also been detained at a nearby medical facility that arrived with a gunshot wound.

Detectives remain at the scene processing evidence and canvassing the area for witnesses and video. An update will be provided on Wednesday once more facts are known.
