One Ordinary Day at a Time

Day 2️⃣4️⃣4️⃣ through 2️⃣4️⃣9️⃣.

Whew! Lots to catch up on. It’s finally September and I’m holding to my promise to myself that I will not focus on the challenges and trails but WILL focus on blessings and gratitude. I’ve found ways, in addition to my time with Jesus, to re-center my mind when things get too big. I’ve picked up my book that’s waiting to be finished, channeled my mind into creativity with art and writing and I’ve slowed down to stop and savor the people in my life that bring me joy. I’m also spending just a little extra time each day enjoying my sweet little fur babies. 🐈🐈‍⬛

It’s still hot and dry here but hopefully relief will come for us all in September. And, let’s not forget that NFL Kickoff is Wednesday! I’ve got several fantasy teams this year and that’s one of my favorite parts! No money involved but strategically naming my teams and building my lineups each week is a REAL thing for me — like for real. 🤣🏈🏈

There are a million things I cannot control and have to hand those to God each and every day. He knows. He sees what I don’t see and He is never late. There are also a million more blessings He has placed in my One Ordinary Days at a Time. So I’ll live this life and steward well the gifts He’s given me, I’ll walk forward with childlike faith and trust and I’ll give thanks each day. 🤍🤍 #𝑮𝒐𝒅𝑰𝒔𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅𝑨𝒍𝒍𝑻𝒉𝒆𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆

Day 2️⃣4️⃣0️⃣ through 2️⃣4️⃣2️⃣ of 365.

My testimony keeps growing — God’s promises, His goodness and particularly over the past month, the truth that He is never late. One day I’m going to start writing my book and tell my story. 🤍🤍

Without sharing details, I can say that the enemy knows exactly where and how to wear me down, sometimes to the point of despair. I do know better, but the battle is REAL y’all! 😩 It seems like lately it’s two steps forward and 10 steps back. But I refuse to let the ways of world’s thinking win. God is bigger! 😊

I saw this today and I believe! I believe. He never said it would be easy. But He does promise that He knows best. 🥰

Day 2️⃣3️⃣7️⃣ through 2️⃣3️⃣9️⃣.

We’ve all been there and it’s nothing new, but y’all — life is lifing and the enemy is absolutely attacking exactly where he knows anxiety can overwhelm me. God is bigger. And I’m reminding myself every day.

Besides several things I won’t mention here, we finally got some rain yesterday afternoon! Hallelujah for that! And…..my power has been out over 10 hours and counting. The blessing is that it’s been nighttime and although uncomfortable, very manageable. The sleepless night and anxiety are both due to no ETA for power to be restored (a substation is completely wrecked) and this Texas heat just doesn’t quit. I’ve got a plan for myself and the cats and we’ll be ok, and life sometimes has a way of resetting priorities when yours have gotten too focused on the wrong things.

Prayers are appreciated not only for the power to be restored soon, but also for me to see the doors that I know God is preparing to open. Also, prayers for so many that are around me, many that are near and dear to me and also my little family — who are all going through things much bigger. Humility reminds me that none of us are free of challenges, and faith reminds me that God is and always will be bigger.

I don’t know y’all. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s been too hot to think and the past few days have been tough for me. But LOOK 👀 at this beautiful sunrise ☀️ this morning that led to a really great day! Thank you, Lord, for my little family, found family and tiny village of amazing people I get to call friend.

Well, no news on the weather front. Just keeps getting hotter and no rain but maybe later this month it will get below 100andhell degrees. 🤪

The last 4 days involved some really great reminders of why I love the work I do, humming “I always feel like somebody’s watching me” in my head as I left for work today (🐈👀), and the reveal of the two new Sarah J. Maas books today! I 👏🏻 cannot 👏🏻 wait! (And I’ve got some Crescent City reading to do ASAP!).
