The need for civility is a quest worth pursuing. The concept of tribalism is very alarming to me. We have a lot of opinions and beliefs but somehow we have lost the art of hearing what the other person is trying to say. I have been guilty of this. So much of this has been brought on by the media pundits. We have gathered around our news gurus who actually are not interested in reporting but they do love having followers.
It would be good to do research and formulate our opinions for ourselves. For me I am trying to be less opinionated and willing to listen. I may not agree but it’s not important that we agree it’s important that we hear .

Life is best served with laughter. The idea is a merry heart is like a medicine. Having a sense of humor is not just a good thing but it is essential. The older I get the more laughter I need. However I try to avoid laughing so hard I could die laughing. Have a great day and tell a joke or two along the way.

It has been some time since I posted on SWDYT. Today is super bowl day. Two teams in a major contest that is watched by millions who don’t normally watch football but love the commercials and the half time. In America we have hype down to a science. There are so many plots and sub plots to this super bowl it is difficult to keep up. The big question for many football addicts is after the bowl blues. How do you hold on till kick off of another season. That I guess is why God created madden football.

I am selling for a friend a 2004 Honda Accord. It is loaded , leather seats, power sun roof, heated seats, the works. Best of all just over 40 thousand clicks. This car is like brand new. It is one owner and all service was done by Honda dealership. I have not advertised this car yet. 7,500 Obo. Let me know soon it is going on Craigslist this week.

I just figured out why I have had a problem with religion. It has to do with authority. Many churches operate under authoritarian leadership. The simple idea that the leadership has the answer and the vision. Depending on the charisma and gifting of the leader well usual decide how many people attend or become members. In this system all goes well if the authority figure is a secure person. If the leader is insecure that's when things break down. In this system people are often called sheep and the pastor is the shepherd. One thing about sheep they are usually dumb and they are easily lead. In this system all goes well until you start asking questions. This attitude drives an authority figure nuts. The idea of critical thinking is friend upon because it could lead to questions like, why do we do things the way we do them. The question of why do I have a problem with religion has partially been answered. I don't think religion was or ever has been Gods idea. The fact that He gave us free will sets Him apart from most authoritarian leaders. So if your a free thinker religion is not the boat you want to sail in.

I think we need more reporting and less opinions. For example I reported that president Trump has played a number of rounds of golf since taking office. This is fact. I also stated that Trump had criticized President Obama for playing golf. This is fact. I also stated that Trump said he would not have time to play golf because he would be to busy running the country. This is true.
There are many people who say they are news people but in reality they are commentators who have an agenda and a political stance to defend. They are excellent communicators but they are not reporting they are commenting. Rush Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson, Rachel Maddox, Glen Beck to name a few. CNN and Fox News are not news outlets they are platforms for commentary. Depending on your political bent you will gravitate to one or the other.
Here is what bugs me. When I share something that is fact based and some of my Facebook friends do not like the fact I have presented they then get personal. Instead of discussing the topic they try to defend their position. Facts are facts they do not need to be defended.
So when I report that Trump said he would appeal Obama care in the first thirty days and he failed it is not bad reporting it is factual reporting. When he said , "we will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it ," I simply stated that he is now asking the taxpayers of America to pay for it. Fact. Sometimes the truth is a hard pill to swallow.
Now here is an opinion, I believe Trump is trying to run the government like he runs his business. He has surrounded himself with his family and people who agree with his leadership style. The problem , in my option is, are we prepared to cover the cost of his poor decision making style of doing business. (In his business he failed big time with the casinos and Trump University) I understand that failure is often a part of business. When Trump failed in business it hurt his company when he fails as President the United States suffers. The world is observing the decision that America has made to put an elitist in office. Many republicans are dismayed to have Trump in office. Many Christians have stated that Trump is Gods man and God uses foolish things to confound the wise. I believe they have one word right, foolish. Now for a fact, I am finished.
