The discussion forum is dedicated to breeding related discussions (and no facebook moderation). You just need to sign up with your email for access (this keeps spam bots out).

Okay friends. Let's hear them!

I will be putting an article together shortly about the breeding troubles experienced this past breeding season. This article will be featured on the launch of the website.

Please submit one to four paragraphs on the struggles you encountered this past breeding season. Please include how those struggles made you feel; were you confident you could overcome them, did you feel lost, did you have support, no support, etc? How did you overcome them? Also provide the final result of the struggle.

Good morning you fine bunch of horse breeders!

👉The media kit is officially ready! Get your advertising space locked in now! Submission deadlines for both advertising space and article submissions is December 15th! Ideally I would like to go to print by the end of January so that the print edition is in your hands at the start of breeding season. Browse through the media kit below to find spec sizes for the ad space in the magazine and on the web.

👉Article Submissions- Article submissions need to be received by December 15th, preferably earlier to give us time to read, edit, and make selections for the magazine and website.

👉The website will be launching within the next day or so. We are finally finished with the build, we just have to test a few things and make sure everything is working correctly.

👉 If you want your directory listing to be live on the site when we launch, I need those submissions by the end of the day today.

As with anything new, I understand hesitancy. Hesitancy to act, hesitancy to follow and hesitancy to trust.

However, I also know that in this industry people often follow along, rather rapidly, those ideas, programs, and such that have a lot of glitz, glamour, and money surrounding them.

The Stock Horse Breeder is committed to growing our industry through disseminating knowledge, rather than gatekeeping it, like many of us I'm sure have run into over the years. Let's start the day off right with a great discussion!

I think, as breeders, we have all seen some odd patterns the past 3 breeding seasons with the mares. More CH's, more HAF's, mare's not ovulating on time, etc.

We've also had some really odd weather patterns the past three seasons. TX freezes, the Northeast is wet and mild, the West in drought and fire, etc., and then the excessive heat we've all experienced the past three years during the summer.

What patterns have you notices in your mares?

Now for a poll, if you will. The website is almost ready to be launched. I just have to finish building out the other three data bases. However, I am thinking of adding a discussion forum to the website where you guys will be able to discuss breeding, and if you have prospects and mares available you can post them there without fear of FB rules. Thoughts on this? I don't want to spend the time to build it if it won't be used.

📌 As the website is in the build phase its important to note that one of the services the website will provide is a database of stallions, breeders, reproduction facilities and more that users can filter and sort to find exactly what they are looking for.

The cost to list your stallion, breeder, reproduction facility, veterinary reproduction services, or reproduction course listing is $100. This fee covers your listing on the website as well as your listing in the print and digital edition of the magazine.
