On June 17, 2026 from the hours of 8-9 AM, Founder of Theafricandream.net had the blessing of joining Her Excellency Ambassador Pamela Bridgewater (Rtd.) and Lord Owusu Mensah who is in the United States to Visit Fredericksburg, Virginia as the Mayor (Assemblyman) of Princes Town - Ghana for an interview with the legendary Ted Schubel at NewsTalk1230 WFVA.

The radio interview was about the blossoming Fredericksburg-Princess Town Sister Cities International partnership and the upcoming Thursday, June 18, Cultural Quilt Lecture Series at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

The above lecture begins at 6:30 PM, in the Theater of the Downtown Branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Princess Anne Street and will also be covered by Sankofa Radio for the Ghana community in the area.

In partnership with Fredericksburg’s Sister City Associations, the City of Fredericksburg, and the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, this 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 explores the mutual cultural influences between the United States and countries around the world. The program is part of Fredericksburg’s local 𝗩𝗔𝟮𝟱𝟬 celebrations, which mark the statewide commemoration of the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Well, what a way to announce themselves! held five-time world champions to an impressive 1-1 draw in a thrilling Group C clash at MetLife Stadium. The Atlas Lions shocked the Brazilians when Ismael Saibari opened the scoring in the 21st minute after a brilliant attacking move. Brazil responded through superstar Vinícius Júnior, who produced a moment of magic to level the scores before halftime. Despite Brazil’s attacking quality, Morocco stood firm and earned a valuable point that could prove crucial in the race for the knockout stages.

The result continues Morocco’s remarkable rise in world football. After becoming the first African nation to reach a World Cup semifinal in 2022, the Atlas Lions are once again showing they belong among the elite. Their disciplined defending, energetic midfield play, and fearless attacking approach frustrated one of football’s traditional powerhouses.

Now attention turns to two African representatives.

The Eagles of Carthage have appeared at more World Cups than any other North African nation except Morocco of course. also made history in 1978 by becoming the first African team to win a World Cup match, defeating Mexico 3-1. Their reputation for organization and discipline, makes them a difficult opponent for any side.

With Morocco already making headlines, Ivory Coast and Tunisia now have the opportunity to continue Africa’s strong start and show the world that the continent’s footballing power continues to grow. The World Cup is only just beginning, and Africa’s story is already one to watch.
