✨ On Tuesday, I had the amazing opportunity to share my author journey at People’s Church Phemom, a story that began with a shy little girl who grew up afraid to be seen… and somehow found her courage through a tiny poodle named Nyx 🐾 and a big dream called Grace and Waffles. 💕

I talked about how fear doesn’t always disappear. Sometimes, you just learn to move forward with it.
How a spark of an idea can grow into something beautiful when you say “yes” to that quiet voice God places on your heart. ✨

From creating my first children’s book with no idea where to start (thank goodness for YouTube 😅) to self-publishing, learning about ISBNs, LCCNs, and everything in between, every step has been a mix of faith, courage, and tea. ☕️

And standing in front of that room full of women and grandmothers reminded me:
Sometimes bravery looks like writing a book.
Sometimes it looks like sharing your story out loud.
And sometimes… it looks like doing both. 💗

✨ I can’t believe I get to say this... I wrote a second children’s book!

This story is especially close to my heart—it’s about the nerves, the hopes, and the tiny brave moments that come with trying something new.

As someone who was once a shy kid (and a shy grown-up too), writing stories that help little ones feel seen has been a dream come true. 💛

Too often, shy becomes a label that limits:
“She’s too shy.”
“He’s just shy.”
It can make kids feel small, less-than, or like something’s wrong.

But here’s the truth: children are so much more than one word.
They are thoughtful, sensitive, and observant.
They might need time to warm up, or they may express bravery in quiet ways.
When we call a child “shy,” we risk shrinking their world.
Instead, let’s describe what we see:
“She’s taking her time.”
“He’s thinking carefully.”
“She’s finding her own pace.”
Shy isn’t bad—but it should never become a box they feel trapped inside. 🌸
