Fresno State Focus reporters and a room full of journalism students from had the chance to hear from senior NPR White House correspondent at KVPR in Clovis today. While she spoke, she emphasized how journalists need to take the story to the people who need it most.

Professor Hanayo Oya and two students, Jaselina Garcia and Jacqueline Alvarez, were invited to speak on the ‘Artful Discourse’ Podcast about their trip to the Chile for the UNESCO World Press Freedom Conference. Fresno State was one of several U.S. institutions to rejoin UNESCO since its departure 5 years ago. The students networked with international journalists and presented their research in Chile.
