From the heart of Portland, Oregon, a seismic rumble in the musical landscape has emerged, and it's called Roselit Bone. Their sound is a deliriously infectious mashup of punk's raw energy, the cinematic sweep of spaghetti westerns, country's soulful twangs, and the dark allure of goth.

Right out of the gate, the use of three acoustic guitars is a revelation. It's not just about the volume; it's about the layers, the rhythm, and the sheer depth they bring. Imagine a tapestry of sound, where every thread is essential, and you're close to the magic they weave.

Charlotte McCaslin, the lead singer, is the band's not-so-secret weapon. Her voice, ethereal and haunting, conjures images of a bird serenading the world on a crisp Sunday morning. But she's not content to just stand and sing; McCaslin throws herself into the very heart of her audience, collapsing to the floor in a moment of pure musical catharsis that feels as raw and genuine as the emotions in her songs.

We also have to talk about the horns. The horns, oh, those horns! They aren't just instruments; they're characters in this narrative, bringing a voice and a story all their own.

Roselit Bone isn't just playing music; they're staging a rebellion, leading a movement. In a world of overproduced beats and recycled melodies, they stand out as trailblazers, inviting us all to join their beautifully chaotic dance. Don't walk; run to their next gig. You won't regret it.

“Despite the profound depth and emotional intensity of his music, an enigmatic shyness seemed to shroud Shapiro throughout the performance. It was a quality that quietly beckoned the audience to lean in closer, to dig deeper into the layers of his artistry. Like a tantalizing mystery, it left you yearning for more, as if the answers to life's deepest questions could be found within the notes and lyrics of his songs. Shapiro's unassuming demeanor, juxtaposed with the depth of his music, created a compelling tension that pulled the audience deeper into his world. It was as if he were challenging us to unravel the enigma that was Kevin Shapiro, both as an artist and as a human being.”

Kevin Shapiro’s album release show review up on the site. Link in bio.

Vaguess manages to infuse their sound with a raw, biting punk energy that sets them apart and makes them distinctly their own. They're known for their ability to seamlessly navigate between these influences, creating a sound that's both familiar and refreshingly original. In essence, Vaguess is a band that refuses to be pigeonholed. Their music effortlessly bridges the gap between indie, punk, and new wave, all while delivering biting social commentary and introspection. Their live performance is an electrifying testament to their dedication, and their music serves as a poignant reminder that sometimes, the most profound emotions are wrapped in layers of sarcasm and wit.
