Syosset American Legion 1st Vice Commander Don MacAvoy was named the New York Mets Vet of the Game at the team’s September 14 home game against the Texas Rangers, where he got to go on the field and was presented with a memorial flag by Mets pitcher Clay Holmes.

NY State Senator Steve Rhoads held his Senior Health Expo and Resource Fair earlier this month at Levittown Hall, where local senior citizens were able to learn information on how to look after their well-being and about different resources they can use or call to ensure their own health.
