Snow Cone with a Cop day at Gardner Police Dept. Radio station Life 88.5 partnered with the police station to facilitate relationships with the community and connect the community with their local law enforcement.
Trailridge 8th grader Micah Bullock said he wanted to be a police offer when he grows up.
“So I can arrest the bad guys,”he said.
Bullock is currently participating in the Youth Police Academy this week.

⚠The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for our area this afternoon, with the heat index expected to surpass 100 degrees. 🌡️The heat advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Make sure to take the necessary precautions to stay safe and cool in the hot and humid conditions, as heat-related illnesses can occur quickly. Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles!

The Justice Center lobby will be open during normal business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) for anyone needing a place to cool off. The Johnson County Library in Gardner is also available as a cooling location during its hours of operation (9 a.m. - 8 p.m.).

Exercise caution if you must be outside in these temperatures. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect you are experiencing a heat emergency.

(Friendly Reminder: The Gardner Justice Center also serves as a tornado shelter for those without a safe place to go during tornado warnings.)
