They might not understand or like it, but I'll never get over how nice the boys look after a good bath and brush. We'll save the hoof trim for another day.

These two CUTIES, Blathers and Punchy, are going to be looking for some new pasture coming end of July. A bit of a slow start for them, leading to some sweet, cuddly little goats. We'll be wethering them out, for as beautiful and sweet as they both are, they're pretty behind weight and growth wise since mom didn't want to give them all the attention they deserved.
We want to promote the best of the best, and while they could potentially be some good bucks down the line, the Arapawa world is flooded enough with AMAZING bucks. Hopefully these two can make some great buddies for some other goats, or some great pets for someone!

I don't think this actually needs any sort of caption. But my friend said it best: they could do the clown car bit!

Found a darling little Ringneck Snake while out in the goat yards today. Little guy is in blue (in a shed cycle) so he's a little dull in color, but sooooo cute nonetheless. I love getting to mark off snakes I've been able to catch and admire, especially little guys like this that have been on my herping list for a while!
Next is a dekays brownsnake!

To show off one of the keepers of the year, we have Roka! From SCZ Celebrian x FRF Bo, little Roka here looks all like her mother outside of the lacing on her nose and (not pictured) the backs of her ears. She has been a total sweetheart and we are curious to see if that lacing pattern will stick with her kids in the future! It's not all too common in the Arapawas.

Little Blathers went with us today on a bit of an adventure! Coworkers were BEGGING to meet the baby goats, so I had to make the tough decision and decide which one to bring in, haha. He truthfully did amazing, just lazed around and snuggled with everyone he met. We are hoping him and his brother, Punchy, have some potential homes to go to once weaning finishes up. They're sweet boys!

My morning starts with a salad. Some fresh greens, a little bit of fruit, some veggie mix ins, and a sprinkling of calcium powder.

Now, hold on- calcium powder? This salad can't be for me, right? It's not! This is actually for my bearded dragon, Tazzy. My morning chores might start off a big different from everyone else's, and that's because amongst the mammals of the house, we also have 14 reptiles! Yep, you read that correct: 14. While the dogs are the first part of my morning the herps are the second, with getting diets prepared for the day, turning on lights, and misting the tropicals. We have an assortment here in our mini zoo.

Tazzy here is a rescue we got in 2019. Due to necrosis, his entire tail needed to be amputated as a baby. Bearded Dragons are one of the species of lizards that do not regenerate their tail (nor can they drop it on their own), so he's been our little Tailless Tazman for a while. But, it doesnt seem to bother him one bit and just makes him all the more unique to us. He's a huge fan of anything yellow, especially mangos, and he likes it best when he can watch tv with us in the living room. Say hi!

Now that the goats are closer I'm able to get a lot more photos! Which is a joy when it comes to seeing how some of the kids I got years ago have grown and matured. This is R3H Apollo, from The Rare Hare Barn . He came with our first group of bucks when we started this journey as this wee little buckling. While he's still fairly flightly in comparison to others, he's a sweetheart that has matured out beautifully. His coat continues to get longer throughout the years and he is now the sire to 3 kids, one of which is a doeling decided to hold back in our herd. His hairdo has always stayed a bit crazy and seems to have followed to one of his sons, and overall he's just gorgeous! We are so happy to have him.
