When loss remains unspoken or unexpressed, grief can feel like a weight we carry—leaving us feeling stuck, disconnected, numb, or deeply exhausted. Grief is not a problem to be solved or something we simply “get over.” It is a deeply human experience that deserves space, compassion, and care.

Grief can show up in many ways. It may look like brain fog that makes everyday decisions feel overwhelming, isolation even when we're surrounded by others, or tension and heaviness held in the body. Sometimes, we simply long for a place where we don't have to explain our grief or pretend that we're okay.

This half-day retreat offers a compassionate space to slow down, honor what you've experienced, and reconnect with yourself and others. Through Grief Yoga® practices, Qi Gong (slow mindful movement), breath work, journaling, and mindful walking, you'll be invited to gently explore your grief, create space for what you're carrying, and reconnect with the wisdom of your body.

We'll also gather in a reflective circle, offering a supportive, non-judgmental space to share, listen, be witnessed, and experience the comfort of not being alone in your grief.

This retreat is intentionally held in a small, supportive group to foster safety, presence, and meaningful connection.

You don't have to move through grief alone.

Space is limited.

After spending some time doing yoga on the beach, I settled into meditation and simply looked out at the ocean. There was something deeply grounding about being still, and watching the waves move toward the shore and then return again. I found myself reflecting on how this ocean existed long before I was here. Long before my story began. And it will continue moving, changing and returning long after I’m gone. There was something both humbling and comforting about that realization a reminder of impermanence. How temporary our lives are and our struggles can be even when they feel so consuming in the moment the waves didn’t rush. They didn’t hold on. They simply moved in and then moved back out again. As I said, they’re listening to their rhythm. Something in me began to soften. Felt more grounded. More connected. More present. Sometimes meditation isn’t about finding the present in stillness. . Sometimes it’s about sitting beside something much older than ourselves and remembering that we are part of something bigger today the ocean reminded me to breathe, to let go and to trust the rhythm of what comes and goes. What about you? What does the ocean speak to you when you sit by it ?

What else can we grieve besides a person?

When we think about grief, we often think about losing someone we love.

But grief can also happen when we lose something that shaped our lives.

Maybe you are grieving:

🌿 The identity you had before a major life change
🌿 A relationship or friendship
🌿 Your daily routines and sense of normalcy
🌿 Financial or emotional security

Maybe you are grieving:
🌿 A role you once had in your family
🌿 Your sense of safety
🌿 A dream you spent years working toward
🌿 The future you thought you were going to have

These are sometimes referred to as secondary losses.

And they aren't necessarily “less important” because they aren't the original loss.

Sometimes, the secondary losses are the ones that continue to affect us long after the initial loss.

You might find yourself thinking, “Why am I still struggling?”

Part of the answer may be that you're not only grieving what happened—you may also be grieving everything that changed because of it.

I'm creating space for these often-unspoken experiences at my upcoming Release & Reconnect Grief Retreat for Women on November 1 at Sky Pond.
