I’ve been thinking lately about the challenges of just being able to stay afloat in everyday America- especially for the middle class, and it makes me think of the thing we’ve often heard of called the “American Dream.”

It feels like it’s getting harder and harder to reach, in fact, most people can’t even tell you what it is. While politicians pockets are getting bigger, yours is getting smaller. Living costs keeps rising and financial pressure keeps building. Middle class America is working harder and harder and are keeping less and less. They’re no longer working to be able to enjoy things, they’re working just to be able to keep the lights on.

If you watch your preferred news channel, depending on which administration is in office, you are being told everything is fine and America is booming. That is true for some, but for the backbone of America it is not. Middle class America is being squeezed and are about to POP! & news flash- it’s not because they’re not working, it’s because the system they’re enslaved to no longer works for them.

This is why I’ve become passionate about speaking to young people and giving them a different perspective. The same ol’, same ol’ advice & education Americans have always received is the same that has them drowning!

I was blessed to have been able to speak to Cane Bay High School’s business students last week! It was an action packed day speaking all day to different groups but the core message I had for them stayed the same:

Who you surround yourself with matters.

You don’t build success alone- you build it with the people around you.

I had them do a simple exercise:
Think of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Now imagine your life as the average of those 5 people.

If you don’t like that picture, something must change.

At the end of the day, you become become who you spend the most of your time with- and that applies to business and everyday life!

Keep showing up.
Keep giving it all you’ve got.
Keep doing everything as unto the Kingdom.

Because there’s someone who's depending on you to keep answering yes to the calling God has placed upon your life.

“THERE IS NO TOMORROW!”

Lately I’ve been reminded of one of the all time great series of movies, Rocky. The boxer, Rocky, is preparing for a fight & he gets tired. He gets exhausted. He wants to just stop for the day. He says we’ll train more tomorrow. But his trainer, Apollo Creed, demands his attention by screaming to him “there is no tomorrow!” Apollo knew the price that had to be paid.

Today in America, I think we need to hear this message. There is no tomorrow. Whether it be our faith, our ideas, ambitions, career paths, or relationships with people. We must do it now, or else we will always just keep looking to tomorrow… more of us need to be like Apollo Creed!

Does anyone need to hear that there IS no tomorrow?

God has a history of using the unqualified to do the unimaginable.

David wasn’t ready, Job lost everything, and Moses doubted himself, yet each one was strengthened, prepared, and positioned by God for their assignment.

He doesn’t look for the most equipped; He looks for the most willing.

If He called you, move forward.

The path is already prepared, all He needs is your yes.

The Lord blessed us yesterday evening at Andrews FCA and it was a pleasure to speak to such great kids!

We discussed the persecution and pushback we receive when sharing the Word and the Way, and the importance of not letting that stop us from growing God’s Kingdom.

“So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.”

“Here We Go” is the rally cry for First PH Church of Andrews this year.

Often times what God calls you to do isn’t in your “comfort zone.” But we must listen and we must answer if we are to be part of God’s Kingdom.

Even if you don’t see the path forward, we must trust in the Lord and do what he’s called us to do.

Four men brought a paralyzed man to see Jesus to be healed, but so many people were crowding around Jesus that they could not get close. Instead of being discouraged, they carried the man to the roof and dug through it. Then they lowered the paralyzed man right down in front of Jesus.

The Bible tells us in Luke 5:20, “When Jesus saw their faith, he said, ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven’” (NIV).

Then in Luke 5:25, “Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God” (NIV).

Sometimes we do not always see an easy answer. Often, getting to the place where we can clearly see God and His way takes time.

We might not know the answer right away, but be assured that God is always there, and He always has the solution to whatever we need.

This story reminds us that sometimes we need the help of our friends. God does not expect us to have all the answers on our own; that’s why we have each other. 💛

FCA is one of the most important organizations our communities have. These kids represent the future of our communities and they need the encouragement to lead in places where it’s not so popular.

Roland Clemons does a great job with Andrews FCA and I am looking forward to speaking to them March 18th!

I have learned through my lived experience that sometimes you go through something tragic to become something greater than you could’ve ever imagined which enables God to use you.

I was blessed to be able to speak this weekend at the Missions Banquet for FBC of Andrews. I spoke about the importance of Growing God’s Kingdom. Once we are saved by God’s grace and mercy, we become part of the Kingdom. But our journey only starts there. Our job is to then go out and grow God’s Kingdom and bring that ‘1’ the gospel and the light.

John 15:8 NLT
“When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.”
