Hello friends and family! I just sent you an invite to this page in the hope you will see this update about the ADSG‘s “e-book,” which I have continued to promise will be published, and I’m hoping is still set to be released for the April 2020 awareness month. Ongoing computer and health issues have delayed things for many years, but I am determined to get this done, and for it to be something that will have been worth all of the years of waiting. It is going to be published in both print-on-demand and digital formats, and will be everything I have promised it will.

If you “like“ this page and have your notification settings turned on, you will get notified of updates and then it’s publication. If you are a contributing author or artist to the manuscript, you will be notified directly as long as I still have a current Facebook or email contact address for you. It will also be advertised in the ADSG and by NADF.

If you have any questions let me know on this page. I am still very excited to complete this project, and to share all of these amazing, worldwide stories of people’s AI journeys through their writing and art.

Thanks for checking in and for “liking” this page!

Got to brag on Paralympic athlete and racer extraordinaire Daniel Romanchuk who is not only the world’s reining marathon champion and as of today, several time record holder, who has qualified for the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo in his track events (his second Paralympic games, this year expected to be hard to catch)... but who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing since he was about 7-8 years old, and who gave me one of his earlier interviews at age 14 — when he already had the Paralympics distantly in his sights, determined to chase and catch his dream. And wow, has he done just that (interesting factoid: his wingspan is 2” longer than Michael Phelps!)!

Daniel’s accomplishments are beyond amazing! His accolades across nearly every major media source leave me speechless, and leave all other racers in the dust (Wall Street Journal, GQ, ESPN, Runner’s World, New York Times, most major news outlets and so much more, lighting up the Net). I have always had so much admiration for and pride in Daniel who is now at the University of Illinois; he has grown into being such an outstanding young man with exceptional talents and determination that words alone cannot possibly say enough. Fortunately the Internet is loaded with phenomenal articles, videos, and more about his story and accomplishments, and I hope you’ll check it out!

Please help him out by liking his page! You can find many of the news story links there. https://m.facebook.com/thedanielromanchuk/
... And follow him @romanchukdaniel on Twitter! You will be inspired!

If you’d like to check out the old story I wrote on him and to see how much he has grown and achieved, here is a link (this routes through my website): https://tinyurl.com/DanielRomanchukSNS-May2013

Today’s New York City Marathon record-setting 1st place win by Daniel was done in only 1 hour 37 minutes 24 seconds, averaging 3:43 per mile (his win set several records, as did his recent return to the Boston Marathon). Last year he also broke the world record in the 5,000-meter. He heads from NYC to his next race in Dubai. Try all this with only your arms and determination to propel you!

Go Daniel!! 🎉🎉🎉

Since several people have asked recently, here is an official “e-Book“ update!

As many of you know, I started working on this compilation book, telling our collective AI journey stories through members‘ writing, art and photography, the year after I founded be ADSG. I never could have imagined it becoming the immensely big project it became, but I am still confident everyone will love it once it is published. The copyright is secured, donations by contract will go to NADF, there are some really cool surprises for you, and it will be a first-of-its-kind multi-media AI book covering all versions of these diseases and stories from around the world.

Being more realistic than I have been for the past half dozen years working on this in bits and pieces, I am truly hoping to have it published both in digital and print-on-demand formats in 2020, shooting for a goal of it being released ahead of the April 2020 AI awareness month. Hopefully the wonderful people from the group who have volunteered to help with some of the copy editing and actual publication of the book will still be able to help me and see this through.

I promise anybody who is included in the book will be notified as long as I have updated contact info for you. The ADSG, NADF, AIU and others worldwide will also help us put out announcements. I feel terrible that computer and my own ongoing health issues have interfered so much with getting this done, but it absolutely will be completed and published and amazing!

The book I've been compiling and working on since July 2013 is getting slowly closer to completion and publication, hopefully by the end of 2018 (fingers crossed!). I know I've been saying it's close to being done for years... but life's had a way of interfering with the best of intentions. "The Adrenal Anthology: From There to Here" will be an awesome way for anyone to learn about experiences with adrenal insufficiency through the writing and art of those affected. If you've contributed some part of your story for the book you will be notified through your Facebook account when it's released for publication.

My latest business cards, going casual and fun. The top ones are the various backs and the bottom middle card has the front printing. Everyone has been "fighting" over which one to take from the pack. :) (Now that's fun!)

My site is updated again. Take a look!

For all the great writers, bloggers and artists from the ADSG... our multi-media e-Book I've been compiling with our stories and art is almost together for publication!

For anyone in our group who does any kind of art or writing related to their medical journey with Addison's or secondary adrenal insufficiency, let me know if you'd be willing to contribute.

Whatever your experience has been, no matter how it's written or illustrated (chicken scratched notes and stick people are welcome!)-- we'd love to still include you. I'm sure we have many members who journal, sketch or just dream on paper or a computer. There's only one other e-Book out there but not one that puts art and written word together (this will be a real "first").

This has been nearly a year of collecting art and stories and it's looking awesome! If you'd like to be part of this, please send me your material. The book will be copyright-protected and there will be no financial benefit for any of us, although we'll donate proceeds to furthering hope for everyone (such as donating to the NADF). The NADF knows we're compiling this book and I hope to have it together by the summer of 2014.

For anyone who's had issues with generic hydrocortisone, I'm finishing an article on how this has impacted patients, which will hopefully appear in the NADF News (their newsletter). Many have had problems with Qualitest specifically, and we have a group reporting number if you've been affected by this specific generic. If you'd consider sharing your story with generic vs brand HC, PM me or reply here.

The brochure I did the copy editing on for the National Adrenal Diseases Foundation on pheochromoyctomas is up and available through their site and is also linked on my website now. They will also have it in actual, paper brochure format and it can be downloaded in pdf at www.nadf.us. It was written by Dr. Shifrin and medically edited by their medical director, Dr. Margulies. It was great to help them with this important project!
