Well, things didn’t go my way tonight, and that’s okay. I want to thank everyone for all of the support over these last 200 days.

I especially want to thank my family. They’ve had to deal with six months of every emotion — not just the smiling guy that leaves the house every day. This campaign has been a long journey, and now it’s time to take a break and spend some much-needed time with my family.

I’m proud of this race. We started with five great candidates and ended with two. Throughout this entire election cycle, things remained positive, and that’s something we should all carry forward in every election.

Hats off to Brady Brown. I appreciate the friendship we’ve built during this campaign, and I wish him the very best moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who allowed me to put up a sign, contributed to my campaign, volunteered, encouraged me, and believed in what we were trying to do. Your support has meant more than I can put into words.

And thank you to the Republican Party for all of your hard work throughout these last six months.

While tonight wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, I walk away proud, grateful, and honored to have had this opportunity.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 — 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲. 𝐕𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟕:𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟕:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌.

I started this journey 6 months and 19 days ago... nearly 200 days of hard work, conversations, learning and listening to the people of Precinct 4.

Today, I humbly ask for your support in the runoff election for Precinct 4 County Commissioner.

As former Mayor Pro-Tem for the City of Glen Rose, I had the opportunity to work through real issues that impact our community every single day. Through my time on City Council and in leadership, I gained valuable experience working alongside Commissioners Court, state officials, local departments and community leaders to help move Somervell County forward.

I believe I am the best candidate for this position because of my experience, my hands-on leadership style, my commitment to service and my ability to build strong working relationships that get things accomplished.

During my time serving the city, we achieved a great deal together. I’m especially proud of the work we did collaboratively with Commissioners Court, including efforts such as the 391 agreement to help protect the natural beauty of Somervell County, interlocal agreements that benefit our community, assisting with the purchase of a vehicle for the Somervell County Fire Department, working through the transition of our parks and helping secure grants for park improvements and upgrades.

I believe that kind of teamwork, communication and collaboration is exactly what we need moving forward to keep Somervell County a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Today, Dennis Moore led a ceremony honoring one of our local heroes, CPL Rhett Butler. We would not have the freedoms we enjoy today without men and women like Rhett who were willing to put their lives on the line for our country and our freedom!

Today, our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all fallen soldiers! Their sacrifice will never be forgotten! Thank you to all who have served and especially to those who gave everything for this nation!

Early voting has ended and Precinct 4 has had 352 voters cast their ballots during early voting!

I greatly appreciate everyone who has taken the time to get out and vote. I know this has been an incredibly busy week for many families and your support means more than you know!

The Glen Rose Field of Flags has officially opened. There has been a great amount of hard work from many volunteers to make this possible! This is truly something special to attend, especially at night when everything is lit up!

If you get the chance, take your family and go check it out. It’s a powerful and meaningful display that honors so many heroes!

And for all of my 2003 classmates, our classmate and dear friend, CPL Rhett Butler, is once again A Gold Star Honoree!
