You can't have absolute perfect feedback unless you could transmit the data from the feedback coils with a negative time delta (i.e. back in time). Even with all analog processing there is some delay. You are applying a proper correction a sliver of a time period too late. 🙂
Unintentionally expressed my feelings through a board layout I suppose... Ha ha. Thanks for the meme worm Brain 🙂
For all who are asking, yes I'm cooking something in the kitchen. Can't say much yet. Here's the boot screen redacted....
:-) Nice little email from the Tubes... Thanks again everyone. Much much more to come soon! As ever, stay tuned.
Just wrote descriptors for a Composite USB HID Input and MIDI Device. Now the unit I'm inventing will be both MIDI and have a HID interface for a remote control application. Very cool!

Something very tragic has happened. I will be unreachable for some time. I will not be posting content for some time. I need to grieve. I'm sorry. Be well. Be kind to others. Namaskar
Thought I'd share a completely unusable low res version of my Monolithic Analog Feedback Schematic. LOL Enjoy!
I've now created the tooling to measure Motor Torque. Real numbers soon!!!!!
Here it is. The Technics SL1200 Quad NAND notated. Full details in upcoming videos.

New Video dropping today!!! Scooty Trun Jr. now with PhotonicDrive. If you like my work, you won't want to miss this one!!!!
Read the video description for all the details. I really cranked out a lot of work since the last update. I'm now fully controlling my lathe from my VST3 P/D Computer plugin hosted in Ableton Live!!! And, I've also added a MIDI Effect plugin with all the interface buttons mapped and available to be sequenced as Sample Locked MIDI Data. Watch until the end, trust me. Stay Tuned!!!

cheech and chong was a nice day maanMovie: Cheech and chong up in smoke(I don't own this in any way)
I completed work on the firmware so my external USB HID Device can now receive Pitch and Depth data from my VST3 Audio Effect hosted in Ableton Live. I am varying the duty cycle on PWM output to an LED. The duty cycle is a scaled representation of the Pitch value sent over USB from the VST.
Tomorrow I'll have the expected control buttons Start/Stop/Echo/Time/Fast implemented in the Audio Effect. Then, I'll start the MIDI Effect and replicate the control buttons there as well so you'll be able to sequence all functions as MIDI data which will get sample locked, converted to USB data, sent to the device, and reacted upon immediately.
Stay tuned!!!!!

More soon. VST control is working and implementing the logic I worked out in the C # desktop application.
I'm now writing Firmware code that will take the data passed from the VST over USB and actually vary the intensity of an LED using PWM code I wrote.
I'm literally hours from showing you all the pitch output from the VST on an eval board. Stay tuned!!!!

PLS-21 Pitch Depth Comp VST3 Audio Effect GUI
Almost finished porting the logic to my VST. Then I create the GUI. And, finally, I convert the code to run in a DAW environment instead of reading from a wave file. Maybe two days tops and I should be getting PWM output from my USB eval kit board. Stay tuned!!!!
I'm now playing the audio for each quarter turn as it is rendered. Making what you see rendered on screen have more relevance by actually hearing it as well as seeing it. I'm rendering the grooves with a gradient effect to simulate the depth change of the groove walls. This makes them look much the same as the actually do on cut disks. And, I've added the ability to play a quarter turn from a cross-section perspective. You can see what the cutting stylus excursion will look like. Finally, I'm rendering the images of the combined 1 and 5 quarter turns with red and blue to make each groove more distinct in the final image.
Next video will actually demonstrate all the new fields and buttons on the interface. And, I'll go into depth with the in and out of phase 1kHz tone with respect to depth control, LL, LV, and V adjustments. Stay tuned!

A quick update video. The next video will be very long and will demonstrate all of the features, settable options, and operations of the software. For now,...
I recorded a whole video but my mic was off... ugh!!!! I'll redo the full video tomorrow. For now, here's a sneak peak with no narration. Its enough to get the point across. I've completely emulated both the 70's and 80's style pitch with the same amount of calibration. Have a watch. Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Watch until the end. That is the very best part... 1kHz tone 80% volume 100 in phase. Zero change of pitch. 100% interleaved.

Finished coding the Pitch/Depth Computer Logic! I'm now doing iRIAA on the samples and also performing depth correction and accounting for any corrections in the pitch calculations. VMS 70 and VMS 80 emulation is spot on now. For music as well as 1kHz In Phase as well as Out of Phase. Things are looking fantastic. Video to follow tomorrow. Next, I'll work out these extra modes: Fixed Pitch Variable Depth, Variable Pitch Fixed Depth, and Mono with Variable Pitch.
Nestled Grooves Baby!!!!! Check the video description for a detailed description. Narration in the video as well.

Again, I've had a really productive evening of development. Earlier today while having a smoke it came to me how Neumann and Flo are able to nestle grooves ...
Things are coming along quite briskly! Check out the description for full details. Also, I narrated the video. Enjoy!!!!

Pitch Computer logic is getting much more refined. Now rendering very accurate grooves from wave data.
Working out the logic for a pitch computer in C #. Once I have the logic finished I will port it to my VST Effect which can be dropped on your master track in any DAW. Preview delay is handled by the plugin. Since all logic and motor/solenoid control is sample locked to the audio, a platter strobe is not required assuming your platter motor is relatively accurate. I've already worked out full bidirectional communications from the VST to an PIC32MX microprocessor over USB implemented as a HID Input device which requires no driver for Windows or macOS. No doubling of tracks in your DAW. No external delay required. And, I'm able to account for more factors than any hardware based solution since I'm leveraging the power of your beefy audio workstation. Stay tuned...
Imagine a Vinyl Cutting Pitch/Depth Comp which requires no delayed input signal. No doubling of audio tracks. Just a simple VST plugin on your master track and a USB breakout box. Possible??? Oh yes, and I'm going to bring it to the world!!!! Let your enormously powerful and accurate desktop computer do the math instead of an MCU... And, have all control changes made with Sample Locked Synchronization.
Just got to 850 Subscribers on YouTube. So, I will make a new reveal video. Which would you rather see?? New Presto 5C coil making method or new 1-D method?
Shame! Shame on you if you're paid to write code and type == true. Shame!
Hot off the Meme Press... Just been weighing on my mind lately... 🙂
In all my years I have now had my first client request a full refund. I wanted to just put this out there because I suspect they are going to try to flame me publicly. And, I have nothing to hide here... I sold some connector clones to a person who was informed exactly what they were, how they were made, and how to assemble them before purchase. They insisted they must have them. That was three years ago. Just recently, they try to make a fuss on a thread in a group here. Saying I am a con man and sell bad parts. No one of any consequence believed that. Nonetheless, it happened. My suspicion the entire time is that this person purchased parts to see how I made them and to make their own version. My suspicions seem to have proven correct. Now, this person very abrasively demands a refund via PM here on Facebook. They say that they think money won't make up for this. I really have no idea what other than money they expect in return from me: blood, first born child, etc??? After further back and forth they demand I send their refund to an email address other than the one they used to make the original purchase via PayPal three years ago. I have courteously requested several times now that they make a formal refund request via email sent to my corporate email address from the email account they wish to receive a credit directed to. I even wrote the text for them to copy and past and send. I need this for bookkeeping and a paper trail for the business loss I will now be claiming. And, its only reasonable to ask for this via email instead of a PM on Facebook which I have no real permanent record of. This person doesn't even have to ship the parts back to me. I will refund the full amount for the parts plus shipping that they paid three years ago immediately upon receipt of a formal refund request email. And, they keep the parts. This person has flatly refused to do so stating that they are not my personal assistant. So... When this person finally decides to try to drop this bomb, just wanted to be sure that you all have at least both sides. I think I've been more than fair and overly accommodating to someone who is clearly doing something fishy and has ill intentions. I really would love for this to be resolved so I can see how else they intend to be a thorn in my side ;-)
