LOCAL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: Captain’s Corner — Garibaldi, Oregon

There’s a lot more happening at Captain’s Corner than you might realize!

Located right on Garibaldi’s working waterfront, Captain’s Corner was created to fill an important need for local fishermen, boaters, residents, and visitors — while keeping fresh Oregon seafood right here in our own communities.

From Dungeness crab 🦀, albacore tuna and their house-made smoked salmon dip to fresh local catches, prepared foods, beverages, bait, ice, fuel and custom seafood processing, this small waterfront business has a lot going on behind the scenes.

But the story that caught our attention is why they’re there. The owners saw services important to Garibaldi’s fishing community at risk of disappearing and stepped in. Today, their goal is bigger than selling seafood — they want to contribute to the future of the port and celebrate the seafood harvested right here in Oregon.

And yes — boats can pull right up to their docks for fuel, bait and ice!

MORE THAN JUST A ROCK SHOP…

Meet Aime Thompson, a 19-year-old with a growing passion for archaeology, rocks, minerals, and lapidary work. Her time working at Visions Rock Shop has given her more than a job—it’s given her a welcoming place to learn, gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and keep working toward some pretty exciting goals.

And that welcoming atmosphere matters. Visions Rock Shop has long been a supporter of community events, local businesses, kids, fundraisers, and fellow rock shops—proof that supporting local can create ripples far beyond a single storefront. ❤️
