Goodland’s Allison Cure signs with Fort Hays State University

Cure capped off her standout senior season a few weeks ago by capturing the 3-2-1A State Golf Championship, shooting a two-day total of 150 (73, 77) at Salina Municipal Golf Course to edge Danielle Yaghmour of Colgan by one stroke.

She also helped lead the Cowgirls to the team state title, as Goodland finished with a two-day score of 685, winning by 34 strokes.

You may have noticed some buzz lately about coins and cash transactions — here’s what’s really happening.🔽

The U.S. Treasury Department has confirmed that production of the penny is coming to an end. Many businesses and banks across the country are already feeling the effects as the Federal Reserve gradually limits penny orders and existing supplies run low. Many banks are no longer able to order pennies at all.

While Western State Bank can still fulfill penny orders at this time, we expect that to change soon. That's why we're currently preparing to help customers and local businesses navigate the transition smoothly.
