What is "988"?

988 is the Su***de and Crisis Lifeline in the United States.
If you call or text 988, you’ll be connected to trained crisis counselors who can help with:

Suicidal thoughts
Mental health distress
Substance use crises
Emotional distress
It’s free, confidential, and available 24/7.
It’s kind of like 911, but specifically for mental health emergencies instead of police, fire, or medical first responders.
