The Dead Pixels Society, formed in 2009, is dedicated to provide news and information to the businesses in the photo imaging industry.
The group began after an InfoTrends conference, where a Microsoft exec talked about “live” pixels – those on screens – and “dead” pixels – those printed. Soon after, the Dead Pixel Society was born, meeting first at the 2009 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference (RIP), an executive-level conference for the photo/imaging industry sponsored by PMA International (PMA). The group continues to meet clandestinely at industry events and conferences, identified by their stylish lapel pins.
