🎉 We are thrilled to announce the 2025 Kim West Dinsdale Excellence in Teaching Award recipient: Caitlin Stump! 🎉

This morning, our staff and Board of Trustees surprised Caitlin during Christmas Mass at Grand Island Central Catholic — where she serves as a special education teacher while also supporting a caseload of students across Grand Island Public Schools. Her impact extends across districts, and the celebration in the room made it clear how deeply she is appreciated. The gym erupted with applause — a true testament to how loved and respected she is.

Caitlin is known not only for her skill as an educator but also for the heart she brings to her work. She shows up fully for her students, meets their needs with creativity and compassion, and helps them grow in confidence both in and out of the classroom. Her dedication reflects the very spirit of what the Excellence in Teaching Award was created to celebrate.
From early-morning practices to learning new activities alongside her students, Caitlin meets each child where they are and helps them grow with confidence, dignity, and joy. She lifts students up, and in doing so, strengthens families and the entire school community.

In addition to the surprise announcement, Caitlin was presented with a $5,000 award check. And as part of the 20th anniversary of the Kim West Dinsdale Excellence in Teaching Award, she also received a special bonus: a $2,500 charitable gift to award to Hall County nonprofits of her choosing, honoring the ripple effect great educators create.
