A Direct Message to the Grand Junction Creative Community from Jason — Business Owner, Father, and Producer
I’ve lived and worked in Grand Junction for more than 10 years. A year and a half ago I started two businesses built on transparency, documentation, and fairness—Funky Monkey Studios LLC and Mossy Strings. I operate with signed contracts, video-verified deliverables, and clear expectations.
But after a decade, I’ve noticed a pattern: most interactions—whether with neighbors, clients, or collaborators, and random people that have come and gone—have ended with dishonesty, broken agreements, or manipulation. Not once or twice. Consistently.
This isn’t emotional. It’s observational. I’ve tracked the data and behavior. And it leads me to ask one thing:
Why is reliability so rare in our creative community? Why do respect, accountability, and follow-through feel like exceptions instead of norms?
This isn’t a complaint. It’s a signal.
If you’re someone who values professional communication, keeps your word, and builds with intention—I’d like to meet you. No drama. No excuses. Just real work with real people.
🛡️ Reputation Note I’m aware that misinformation has been quietly spread by former collaborators. I won’t debate personalities or make accusations. I operate with legal agreements, deliverables confirmed via video, and consistent documentation. If you’ve heard anything, you’re welcome to reach out and review the facts directly.
If you’ve experienced this pattern yourself—or you want to work with people who don’t confuse “creative” with “chaotic”—my door’s open.
Let’s do better. Because some of us still care whether the work is real.
