🙏🏻 It’s a very sad day in American history today. Remembering September 11, 2001. 25 years ago when the twin towers in New York City, the Pentagon, and another tragedy occurred in Shanksville, PA. Jet liners used as weapons as terrorists tried to break America.

We arrived from Madison, Wisconsin six months earlier, and I was doing weekend weather on TV here in Grand Rapids. Our family just flew in from Denver off a vacation the evening before, then all air space was closed for a week the next day.

What were YOU doing, where were YOU? I think all of us remember that day in time. Share it if you’d like. Thoughts and prayers to every person, every family, every first responder impacted by this tragedy, and God bless America. 🇺🇸

🇮🇹 I might be Polish, but today I tried my hand at an Italian staple dish. Lasagna! Haven’t made it in decades! Hamburger, tomato sauce (Rao’s marinara), Colby Jack, mozzarella, cottage cheese, parmesan, mushrooms, garlic, and Italian seasoning. The 9 x 13 pan weighed 7 pounds before it hit the oven.🍝 Can’t wait to try it. Full disclosure, it’s hard to screw up something this easy! The last few photos are the finished product before and after baking.

Look for partly cloudy to partly sunny skies today. Highs in the mid 70s. We’ll drop into the upper 40s to lower 50s tonight. Friday, mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s. Saturday, partly cloudy to partly sunny, a bit more humid, highs in the upper 70s to near 80.

🌈 Beautiful shot from the track this morning of some high, thin, wispy, cirrus clouds, complete with cloud iridescence. Notice the rainbow like feature. It’s caused by sunlight bending around tiny, uniformly, sized water droplets or ice crystals in thin cirrus clouds. The appearance is typically a soft pastel or neon patches that shift and shimmer second-by-second as the wind stretches the cloud. It also looks like a circumhorizontal arc was trying to form around the sun, but it never quite materialized.
