If you're traveling to Medford today, heads up on a power problem - Update on the power outage in Medford this afternoon affecting 5600+ customers. Brandon Zero at Pacific Power tells KMED and KCMD that BIRD DAMAGE is the source of the problem. They're working to move power lines to an undamaged section of line and if you're off line, the hope is your power comes back on sooner rather than later.

Update on KCMD 99.3 FM in Grants Pass, it was on generator for about 3 hours this afternoon, and it failed at 5:30. That's the bad news. The GOOD news - Steve Porter tells me a crew from Ridgeline Construction will be on the mountain in GP first thing Thursday morning to repair the downed power lines and clear the damaged trees. Figure a Thursday afternoon recovery from the storm.

Bill Meyer from KCMD 99.3 FM Newstalk here. We've been off since about 7p last night due to a tree having fallen on power lines. Steve Porter of SisQ Communications (site owner) tells me they're on it and with Pacific Power's help we'll be back on 99.3 FM in Grants Pass ASAP. For now, streaming on KMED.com or streaming on the KMED/KCMD App for your Android device, or the Bicoastal Media app from the Apple store is working fine. Was up there on Granite Hill Road in GP this morning, and the snow is SO heavy and wet, many trees looking like they want to topple over, so watch it on the roads!
