To my wonderful Gray Court community,
So many of you have been asking where the latest issue of the paper is, and I wanted to come here and share some honest, real news with you.
For the past two years, this paper has been my absolute labor of love. With the incredible ideas and help from local friends and businesses, my goal was to create something special—a beautiful blend of local advertising and community storytelling. A true work of art for our town.
Through this journey, I have learned so much. But some of the hardest lessons are still heavy on my heart right now.
To be completely vulnerable with you all, running this has been incredibly tough. From finding businesses to sponsor ads and tracking down stories, to writing, editing, and designing—it became an overwhelming full-time job. And at the end of the day, I’m just a one-woman show. Lately, balancing the rising costs of printing has become a hurdle I can no longer clear on my own.
Stepping back and pressing pause on the paper isn't my proudest moment, but it’s a choice I have to make for myself right now. Until I can figure out a sustainable way to make it work, the paper is officially on hold.
This isn't a permanent goodbye, it’s just a "see ya soon."
No matter how deeply I want this dream to live on, a community paper can only survive if the community truly wants to support it. Right now, the foundation isn't quite strong enough to keep it afloat.
I’m signing off for now, but I genuinely hope to return soon with fresh ideas, higher hopes, and an even stronger connection to you all.
