It took us 2 years to go from 1 follower to 1,000… And just a little over 2 months to go from 1,000 to 2,000!

Our Halloween weekend at Kinney Lake Campground in Marion, WI was an unforgettable, spur of the moment camping trip!

Let’s backtrack a little. After Labor Day weekend, we realized we weren’t quite ready to say goodbye to pool season. We did some research and discovered that Kinney Lake still had both its pool and inflatable pond open...and was hosting its first Halloween weekend. Since it had been a few years since our last Halloween camping trip, we thought “Let’s do it!”

We arrived early Saturday morning after our daughter’s late night sporting event on Friday. The day was packed with activities, including Halloween crafts, purse bingo, a meat raffle, parades, trick-or-treating, and a performance by That '90s Band in the pavilion to cap off the night.

We had such a great time, and having access to the pool and pond was exactly what we were looking for!

This time, we simply wanted to highlight how much we enjoyed our return trip and how much the entire campground embraced the Halloween festivities. So many seasonal campers and weekend visitors went all out with their decorations. Even the kids kept commenting on how many “cool sites” they saw!

One of the best parts of the weekend was meeting everyone who stopped by our site. We were truly humbled by how many people told us they follow WIScamping and by how many remembered us from our previous visit! It's all of YOU who insprire us to keep spreading the camping love!

We were also pleasantly surprised by how quickly our giveaways found new homes! We brought about $600 worth of WIScamping merch to share, and it was wonderful to see how appreciative everyone was. Fun fact: We used a 52 card deck, and anyone who drew a Jack or higher won a hat or leatherette koozie. Three of the first four cards drawn were a Jack or higher, so those hats went fast! 😂

All in all, if you’re looking for a great place to enjoy fall camping and celebrate Halloween, check out Kinney Lake Campground. They have one more “Fright Night” planned for next weekend...so give yourself a reason to get out and camp one more time! 🎃
