We have been receiving numerous complaints regarding juveniles gathering and creating disturbances. Not only is the gathering of people from other households not advised currently, but there have been many disturbances reported to us.
We know these are different times, but please keep in mind as parents and guardians you are responsible for the whereabouts of your children and their activities. If you or your child are struggling during this time, reach out to a school counselor or social worker. Check with your employer to find if there is an employee assistance program (EAP).
We know these issues will continue as the weather continues to warm up. We want to work with residents and, most importantly, parents to keep their kids safe and prevent police calls for disturbances and property damage. Thank you!

UPDATE: NO SIRENS THURSDAY!

After deliberation, we have decided to NOT sound the sirens tomorrow. We want to encourage citizens to talk with their families and coworkers about Severe Weather Preparedness and what they would do when sirens sound during a real event, but we have decided to support our partners and encourage social distancing by NOT sounding the sirens tomorrow. There are essential businesses, facilities, etc, that still have large groups of people working, and we do not want to encourage lots of people gathering in small spaces to participate in a drill. We plan to post virtual awareness on social media during the drill. We apologize for any inconvenience we've caused you.

Please share.
