I truly appreciate the flexibility that some jobs offer, especially in the healthcare sector. ❤️
But if we’re being honest, there may never be a perfect work schedule, especially when you’re a parent—or even when you’re aspiring to become one.
Because life doesn’t always follow your work schedule.
There will be school activities you want to attend.
Family dinners you don’t want to miss.
Church programs.
Birthdays.
Appointments.
Sick days.
Vacations.
Those random little moments when your child simply wants Mommy or Daddy to be there. ❤️
And sometimes, even when your employer is understanding, the needs of your family and the demands of your job simply don’t line up.
That’s why I believe in creating options for yourself.
Not because you hate your job.
Not because you have to quit your career.
Not because your job isn’t a blessing.
A job can be a wonderful blessing. 🙏🏾
But having another option you are building alongside it can give you something to lean on when your current schedule or circumstances no longer work for the season of life you’re in.
Because what happens when you need more time with your family?
What happens when working another overtime shift means missing another important family moment?
What happens when you realize that your income is important, but so is having the freedom to be present for the people who matter most?
For me, that’s why building something outside of my traditional career became important.
I wanted to create another stream of income.
I wanted to learn something I could build from home.
I wanted to create something that could eventually give me more flexibility—not overnight, not by magic, and definitely not without work—but by building it consistently over time.
Your job can be your income.
Your business can be your option.
And you don't have to wait until you're frustrated, overwhelmed, or forced into a difficult situation before you start creating that option.
Start while things are still okay.
Start while you still have your paycheck.
Start while you still have the opportunity to learn, build, grow, and prepare for the future.
Because sometimes, having options is not about leaving what you have.
It’s about giving yourself the freedom to choose what works for you and your family when life changes. ❤️
So if you've been thinking about building something on the side, maybe this is your reminder to stop waiting for the “perfect” time.
There may never be one.
Start where you are.
Learn as you go.
Build with purpose.
And trust God with the process. 🙏🏾
