South Hadley wife allegedly stabs husband

SOUTH HADLEY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) -- South Hadley Police shared that last Tuesday officers responded to a residence where the reporting party allegedly stated he was stabbed by his wife. Officers provided initial medical attention before he was transported to a local hospital. The suspect was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, assault and battery on a person over 60, and armed assault to murder a person over 60.

Marshall’s Country Store receives SNAP disqualification notice

BERNARDSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) -- Marshall’s Country Store in Bernardston announced they will no longer be able to accept SNAP EBT funds for payment as of December 21st through the next six months. The store received a disqualification letter informing them for the first time of three instances from over eight months ago where customers used their funds to purchase ineligible items. In the announcement from the store, they also stated they were not notified previously and given no opportunity to make corrections before being disqualified.
