Hey fam 💛

Every day with Guillain-Barré Syndrome is different. Some days I feel strong and hopeful, other days—well, it's tougher. But every single day, I'm still here… pushing through.

Today, I’m choosing to celebrate small wins 💪✨
Whether it’s walking a few extra steps, getting out of bed with less pain, or even just smiling despite the discomfort—it all counts.

To anyone else on this journey:

34 and in a nursing home… it’s lonely, and honestly, isolating. I keep to myself a lot—not because I want to, but because it’s hard to connect when you feel out of place.

I miss feeling normal. I miss being around people who get it.

But I’m ready to get better. Ready for a fresh start and a sense of normalcy—whatever that looks like.

If you’ve ever felt stuck or out of place… you’re not alone.

I never thought I’d be here—34 years old, stuck in a nursing home because of Guillain-Barré Syndrome. It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to be in a place that isn’t meant for you, surrounded by people who don’t truly care. It’s not just the physical challenges; it’s the loneliness, the isolation, the feeling of being invisible.

I miss having real support, people who genuinely care about me—not just because it’s their job, but because they want to. I miss feeling like I belong somewhere. Every day here is a reminder of how much has changed, and honestly, it’s exhausting.

I don’t share this for pity but because sometimes, the hardest part of struggling is feeling like no one sees it. If you’ve ever felt alone in your battle, just know you’re not. And if you still have the ability to reach out to someone who’s struggling—do it. It might mean more than you realize.

Psalm 40:1-2
I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and HE... heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and mire.

Your Feelings Are Valid

Whatever you're feeling right now—joy, sadness, or something in between—it’s okay. Be kind to yourself and know that you’re not alone. You matter, and so do your feelings.
