Jeffrey Voss Receives PHCC National Association’s Prestigious Col. Scott Award

Jeffrey Voss of Boone, North Carolina, has championed initiatives that directly strengthen contractors’ success and raise professional standards across the plumbing and HVAC industry for years.

In recognition of his contributions, the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) presented Voss with its highest honor, the Col. George D. Scott Award, during its annual awards at PHCC CONNECT 2025 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in October.

HARDI Distributors Report 5.3% Revenue Increase in September

The annual sales growth for the 12 months through September 2025 is an increase of 4.6%.

“Cooling season 2025 ends with sales growth of 5.3% during September,” said Brian Loftus, macroeconomic and residential market analyst at HARDI. “That result got an extra boost from an extra billing day. We estimate sales was about flat with the same number of billing days.”

A. O. Smith announced November 12 that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire LVC Holdco LLC (“Leonard Valve”) of Cranston, Rhode Island, for $470 million.

The Company expects the transaction to close in the first quarter of 2026.

Founded in 1911, Leonard Valve, together with its Heat-Timer brand, is a pioneer in water management technologies. Leonard Valve leads in digital and thermostatic mixing valve technologies, while Heat-Timer provides advanced boiler controls that optimize hydronic heating.

PHCC Educational Foundation Announces 2025 National Plumbing Apprentice Contest Winners

The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC) Educational Foundation is proud to announce the winners of the national plumbing apprentice contest. The contest was held over three days in October in Grand Rapids, Mich. on the tradeshow floor during the PHCC National Association’s CONNECT 2025 event. A total of seventeen plumbing apprentices from across the nation took part.

PHCC Educational Foundation Awards Record-Breaking 66 Students with $152,000 in Scholarships

Applicants must be plumbing or HVAC apprentices or trade school students, or college students pursuing studies directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling industry.

Helping to boost the number of awards available this year were newly created scholarships sponsored by Home Depot Pro and by HomeServe as part of their broader Skilled Trades Initiative, aimed at strengthening and expanding the skilled labor force.
