I don’t usually text people first.

Then I spend three business days wondering why nobody has texted me. 😂

At some point, I might have to admit that friendship is a two-way street.

Lately, I’ve realized that some of my biggest limitations weren’t actual limitations. They were old assumptions I carried for so long that I stopped questioning them.

I got used to shrinking plans before I even gave them a chance to become real. Now I’m wondering what might happen if I stop doing that.

Lately, I’ve had to remind myself that just because something looks different doesn’t mean it’s a step backwards.

I wanted a simpler life. I wanted more peace. I wanted room to breathe. Sometimes I forget that and start comparing my current chapter to my previous one. Then I remember that this is the life I asked for.

Last month I traded a three-bedroom house for a two-bedroom apartment.

On paper, it probably doesn’t sound like an upgrade. I gave up space, my yard, and the convenience of pulling right up to my front door. Now I live on the third floor with no elevator, which means every grocery trip, Amazon package, and forgotten item becomes a journey.

But what I gained makes it all worth it.

My neighborhood is quieter. My home feels safer. I actually enjoy being here. Some evenings, I look around my apartment and realize I’ve spent more time enjoying my space in a month than I did in years before.

The stairs are exhausting.

The peace is worth it.

Still Growing,

Lately, I’ve been noticing how quickly I label something as a setback just because it didn’t happen the way I planned. A closed door, a delayed timeline, a version of life that no longer fits. My first instinct is disappointment.

But I’ve realized some endings don’t arrive to punish us. Sometimes they arrive because we’ve quietly outgrown where we were.
