Happy Birthday to the always-versatile John Leguizamo! 🎂 From Carlito’s Way, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!, Spawn, Ice Age, Encanto, and John Wick to countless other memorable roles, he’s spent decades proving he can do it all.

His scene stealing performance in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (2026) is generating award buzz and I must say he was incredible!!! And I’ll always have a special place in my heart for To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar—still my favorite John Leguizamo film.

If you were a Bow Wow fan back then, you already know—we were COUNTING DOWN to this movie!

Like Mike follows a young orphan who discovers a pair of magical sneakers that once belonged to Michael Jordan that give him NBA-level basketball skills, turning him into the league’s newest superstar.

The movie had an incredible cast, including Bow Wow, Morris Chestnut, Jonathan Lipnicki, Brenda Song, Eugene Levy, and Jesse Plemons, plus appearances from NBA stars like Allen Iverson, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Steve Nash, Chris Webber, and Dirk Nowitzki.

On this day in 1991, Terminator 2: Judgment Day hit theaters and redefined what audiences expected from action movies.

Directed by THE James Cameron and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Edward Furlong, T2 was the most expensive film ever made at the time, with a budget of around $100 million. It shattered expectations, grossing over $500 million worldwide to become the highest-grossing film of 1991.

The movie revolutionized filmmaking with its groundbreaking CGI, especially the liquid-metal T-1000, setting a new standard for visual effects that influenced countless films that followed. It also proved that computer-generated effects could seamlessly blend with live action, helping usher in the modern blockbuster era.

Its impact was recognized at the Academy Awards, where it won four Oscars: Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, Best Sound Effects Editing, and Best Makeup.

And on a personal note… this has always been my family’s favorite Terminator movie especially because of that liquid metal T-1000!!! He was the stuff of nightmares, but so cool!

It also won the Academy Awards for Best Sound Effects Editing and earned three additional Oscar nominations.

From the unforgettable DeLorean time machine to quotes like, “Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads,” the film launched one of the most beloved trilogies in cinema history and continues to inspire generations of fans. Today we celebrate the life and legacy of The Notorious B.I.G. — one of the greatest rappers of all time.

From redefining East Coast hip-hop in the 90s to giving us classics like Ready to Die and Life After Death, Biggie’s storytelling, flow, and charisma changed music forever. He became the first rapper to have multiple diamond-certified albums and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.

Even decades later, his influence can still be heard across hip-hop and pop culture. Gone too soon, but truly never forgotten. 👑🎤
