Flagpole K**b
Shelby from the North River Ranger district was available to discuss flagpole.
1- Flagpole the vista will not be closed.
2- NO FR will be closed
3- Social trails (AKA the s**t nephsons make off the main trail) will be closed with boulders
4- the meadow (nature area) on the reddish k**b side (which has never been a trail) will get boulders to keep people way and that will remain open for foot travel.
5- I am awaiting a call back from Ms. Shelby’s supervisor to discuss how CAMO can adopt responsibility along FR85 and its arteries.
I want to note that Shelby was extremely helpful and kind during the conversation.

Hey everyone, in case you haven’t heard, there’s a rumor going around (with some substantial evidence) that flagpole k**b and the road to it (excluding fr85/union springs) will be closed off with boulders in the coming days.
I have attempted to substantiate this with the North River Ranger district and all of their available extensions, the GWNF forest supervisors office, the district 8 regional office, the deputy forest supervisor , and all party extensions therein.
Only one person answered the phone between 8am and noon from the Atlanta office.
At that time, I called the direct desk phone and cell phone of the forest deputy supervisor, which also returned no response.
I will continue to diligently pester any and all USDA affiliates who are related to this matter.
I will also find out whether or not this includes any parts of FR85A, which is a road on the MVUM, and would require public comment and judgement before arbitrary closure. Additionally, if 85A is included, I will find out who purchased the stone, operators, and trucking to close the public road in accordance with 36 CFR § 261.50(c) and (b)
Closure isn’t management. Silence isn’t an answer.
Update: I called the Harrisonburg office of Congressman Ben Cline , but was told he can provide me limited help because I don’t live in his district. (Even though the affected area is 5 miles west of his office)
