When you have limited space and limited equipment, sometimes you gotta make do with what you got.
On the set of Slow Dating, we did a full 180 pan switching from one side of a table to another. Because the camera saw an entire side, we had to get creative with the lighting. So I flew in a light as the camera was planning, starting just BARELY out of frame and turning it on a split second before it lit the final frame.
