⚠️ INVASIVE ALERT! Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Confirmed in Mississippi.

The MFC has confirmed the presence of the destructive Emerald Ash Borer in Issaquena County. This marks the first known detection of this invasive insect in our state.

EAB is a wood-boring beetle that has killed hundreds of millions of ash trees across North America. Infested ash trees typically die within 3–5 years.

What You Can Do:

🛑 DO NOT MOVE FIREWOOD. This is the primary way the insect spreads.
👀 Inspect your ash trees for signs: canopy thinning, D-shaped exit holes, and increased woodpecker activity.
📞 REPORT suspected EAB activity immediately to MFC (601) 359-1386

VICTORY: Today, China was ordered to pay more than $25 BILLION plus post-judgment interest and costs to Mississippi for the COVID-related damage they did to our state and our people. So proud of the work of our AGO attorneys! Check it out ⬇️

China orchestrated a scheme that artificially raised both PPE prices and the need for PPE in the first place. Such conduct calls for a historic penalty to achieve deterrence, thereby protecting the public.

I joined my House Democratic colleagues in signing a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, asking them to use emergency funds to keep the SNAP food program running during the government shutdown.
