🌳 Exciting Upgrades Coming to Spartanburg Parks! 🌳

Big things are happening for our local parks and recreation spaces! Spartanburg City Council has approved a $1M investment in upgrades to several parks and facilities, thanks to federal COVID-19 relief funds. Here's what you can look forward to:

🌟 Duncan Park: $300,000 will fund a new picnic shelter and a perimeter trail to connect neighborhoods. This park is also getting a boost from an additional $400,000 in federal grants and community partnerships!

🌟 Irwin Park: $200,000 will improve pedestrian connections to the Hampton Heights neighborhood and the C.C. Woodson Community Center, with more input from residents to shape further upgrades.

🌟 Chapel Street Park: $105,000 will go toward playground upgrades, new swings and benches, and a repaired park shelter—all ready by spring!

🌟 C.C. Woodson Community Center Pool: $100,000 will replaster the pool's rough bottom and address cracks and stains, making it swim-ready by May.

🌟 Recreational Programming Transportation: $145,000 will replace a 20-year-old bus to ensure kids and residents can continue accessing programs across the city.

🌟 General Upgrades: $150,000 will improve park signage, accessibility, and community center interiors, along with AV upgrades at various facilities.

Councilman Jamie Fulmer summed it up perfectly: "I'm glad to see us investing in these parks." These upgrades will make our parks more welcoming, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone in our community.

According to a recent survey by Bright MLS, younger homeowners who bought during the pandemic are gearing up to be the most active sellers in 2025. Nearly 1 in 5 current homeowners plan to sell next year, with those in their 30s and 40s leading the charge. In contrast, only about 6% of homeowners aged 60 and above are considering selling.

Many of these younger sellers have built significant equity due to rising home prices, enabling them to upgrade even in today's higher interest rate environment. Family and career changes are the top reasons driving their decision to move.
