NYC Hospitality Alliance Host Diversity Event with Tao Group and Garden of Dreams

With a goal of spotlighting perspectives on resilience, serving the community, and strengthening inclusion, the New York City Hospitality Alliance was thrilled to team with TAO Group Hospitality and MSG’s Garden of Dreams last month on a very special event.

A celebrity panel led the celebration of the complexities and journey of participants careers by learning about their background, education, and thoughts on the hospitality & service industry as it relates to diversity & inclusion. Chef Marcus Samuelsson, Chef JJ Johnson, Melba Wilson of Melba's Restaurant, and Derrick D-Nice Jones anchored the panel that was moderated by Rev. Dr. Shakeema North.

Chef Jordan Andino Leads Flip Sigi National Rollout With Chicago Debut

With America’s ever-increasing interest in diverse and international foods, Chef Jordan Andino and his partners have launched ambitious plans to expand their Flip Sigi restaurant concept across the nation. What started as a local Filipino restaurant in Manhattan now aims to become a nationwide Filipino dining experience.

The Toronto native has embraced his time on both the California and New York food scenes to develop his own unique style of Filipino-meets-French cuisine. Andino quickly rose in food circles to his current level of fame with his signature techniques of embracing both cultural food traditions and classical culinary techniques to create an all-new fusion which he serves at his Flip Sigi restaurants.
