I won’t repost the election prayer photo today, because truthfully a whole lot of you aren’t reading or even giving the slightest thought to those words from what it seems to be around you.
Instead I’m going to say this. If you are sitting on a moral superiority cloud because of who you voted for, perhaps don’t publicly be so very hateful to those you know voted differently than you.
I’ve watched the shift happen to my face in the 3 months since I dared to say out loud how I felt about current politics. And over the past 2-3 weeks, the shift has gotten worse, more dark stares & way less love, from folks who’ve stood inches away from me every week FOR YEARS. (In church, mind you.)
The anger in the energy right now is truly concerning, and for the first time in the whole election cycle, I’m feeling anxiety that I cannot shake.🥺 I am scared to think about how we will be towards each other one week from now.
Some of you need to take a long hard look at your heart, and reflect on the whole “Love your neighbor” commandment from Jesus.🫶

PSA: When you, as the adult caretaker of a child, are told by another adult (say a teacher) that your child has been bullying & acting very nasty, “kids will be kids” is NEVER the correct response.😡

Ouch. But true. At least in terms of numbers of “frineds”.
The silver lining though, is that the tribe that is still there, they are the real ones. And quality always wins over quantity.🫶
