You should think of your dining area as prime real estate. The more volume you can create by table turns increases the income of both the restaurant and the server. That being said, no one wants to feel rushed during their meal. The trick is to get the tables turned without coming across as inhospitable. I started my working life in a restaurant so it seems quite appropriate that the company I founded would specialize in servicing restaurants.
In my early working life I was a dishwasher and knew every inch of that darn Hobart before I managed to learn enough to become a cook.
When I finally left for college I had spent 10 years in the industry and worked at every level.
I spent several years training managers how to retain employees and reduced turnover rates to all-time lows for several different restaurants.
I was responsible for the creation of an internal reporting system that resulted in a massive reduction in manager theft.
I ran promotions that increased gross profits at 2 different restaurants.
All of this experience is exactly what makes me such an effective marketer for restaurants now. I have put in the time to learn from the inside what works and what doesn’t.
So that’s where we are today. Tomorrow? Well, this story is far from over and you will just have to stick around, but it’s always an adventure!
