“'Abigail/1702' is a well-constructed, well-executed horror thriller that serves as a proper sequel to the events in Arthur Miller’s 'The Crucible'...The playwright’s imagination and the work of the director and designers brings the horrors of a scandalous time in this area’s history to vivid life." - On Boston Stages review

King Philip's war club is an important object in our collection. It is also at the center of the exhibition "Finding Metacom: Artists Duane Slick & Martin Smick in Dialogue with the Fruitlands Native American Collection," up through Nov. 6. This club was owned by Metacom, or King Philip, and the art work externalizes issues surrounding Native American and European identities. Read more about this show in a recent write-up in the Providence Journal! (Link in our bio). @martin_smick @provjournal @risd1877 #metacom #warclub #warclubwednesday

Rachel is a member of United Plant Savers ~ never using an endangered plant species in #herbalremedies. Rachel teaches a variety of plant medicine making, spirit #healing, and ethical #harvesting workshops. She writes an online #lifestyle & wellness blog called IDYLLIC LAND and runs her own apothecary of “simple plant based products for health & wellness” for sale online and at events. Her introduction to herbalism began at a young age, spending time in silence with nature in her various childhood homes. She has a background in Visual Arts and Art History with a concentration in textiles, mixed media, photography, and writing. Fueled with inspiration, Rachel has spent time exploring ancient cultures and folk art traditions around the world. She’s lived and traveled throughout Europe, Northern Africa, and Australia. Rachel eventually moved to Southern California to study herbal medicine hands-on in the Santa Monica Mountains. She found synchronicity in learning about plants through creative mediums such as drawing her favorite plant allies ~ learning their geography, history, and tradition whilst empowering people to honor and care for themselves in connection to the earth. Since graduating, Rachel has assisted The Gaia School of Healing in being a mentor for new students and organized as The Herb Sales Coordinator for her school’s The Land Fund. Rachel now lives with her Australian husband in Massachusetts.
