💌 What would you say to your 18-year-old self?

At 18, I was searching for an escape—longing for something more but unsure of what the future held. I felt trapped by pain I didn’t know how to process, by the weight of expectations, by the fear of not being enough.

Looking back now, I see how every struggle, every unanswered question, and every setback was shaping me for what was to come. I didn’t know it then, but God was writing a story greater than I could have imagined.

So today, I’m writing a letter to my 18-year-old self, and I want to invite YOU to do the same. Let’s make this a movement.

A couple weeks ago my husband, daughter, my daughter’s best friend and I traveled to Florida to partner with 30A Prays for a prayer tent outreach. Over the course of those 3 days we prayed with so many people, the majority in their teens.

The young girl in this picture came to our tent on the last day. I want to share her story because it is such a testimony to what God is doing in this generation. Daisy came up and asked for prayer. She and her friends were driving by our tent which was set up on the corner of a busy intersection. Daisy told us as soon as she saw our tent she knew she had to come and get prayer. So she told her friends I have to get prayer, then she hopped out of the car at the traffic light and told them she would meet them at the condo. When she came up she was so full of life and eager to receive all Jesus had for her. It was her 17th birthday that day. She was such a sweet soul and God met her right there on the corner of that busy intersection.

God is calling this generation in multitudes. Their hearts are so open and they are searching. Daisy is just one story of many from those 2 weeks of outreaches. It truly reminds me of Matthew 9:35-38. This generation is ready and waiting for us to share Jesus with them.

”And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”“
