These benebones are so expensive but I found a variety box on Amazon that's way cheaper than buying them individually. We got 4 large for $44 instead of nearly $20 each. Gimli's a very happy boy..

This isn't a pretty video but it's a transparent one.
This is after both have played, and ate. Ignore the kids hot wheels track.

Nyx has always and will always be a very bossy/dominant dog. But after she hurt her back, she does not like wrestling anymore. Which is completely fair! However since that's new, and Gimli is a dumb teen boy, he doesn't understand. Lol
I know that Nyx gives very hard corrections, she always has. So until Gimli learns her new boundaries when she wants to coexist she is muzzled. This way she can safely tell him off and Gimli doesn't get unnecessarily beat up. 🤣 She gets to choose when to coexist, and when she wants to be alone I separate them. Both are muzzle trained so they don't care about wearing it, they can eat, drink, pant, and yawn in it.

This video shows him begging for her to play but not invading her space. They used to just tackle the crap out of eachother, which is likely what hurt her back. 🤦‍♀️ That does not mean it's Nyx's job to teach him, I let her choose when and how she wants to interact. The rest is up to me.

Know your dogs, use training tools that create safe learning, and know that not everyone is perfect. 😅

Mums reading buddy 💚 This is your reminder to teach your dogs (even active breeds) to be calm. Some days you might not be able to do all the play and training you normally do, and your dog should know how to be calm during that time. I am having tension headaches which is a precursor to my migraines. So it is extremely helpful that my dogs can be mellow when I cannot do as much as we normally do.

Just a couple more weeks until dad will be home from deployment. I'm going to be very busy deep cleaning the house to minimize his allergies flaring up, but as soon as he's home I am off duty. 🤣 Nyx is going to be glued to him but Gimli might need a little time to get used to dad being home again.
