HELP! What is everyone else doing that actually WORKS?! 😩🦟

The mosquitoes are absolutely brutal right now. I went out to milk the goats this afternoon and became a full-on walking buffet in about 30 seconds. 😂

We’ve tried dusting the property, sprays, citronella, and avoiding being outside at certain times… but apparently these mosquitoes have formed a union and are not backing down.

What has made a REAL difference for y’all, especially around livestock, pets, and kids?
Drop your best mosquito-fighting advice below — products, traps, yard treatments, home remedies, whatever you swear by!

Well today was a surprise. 😂

Q went out this morning to milk the goats and somehow came back with… a kitten.

Apparently this little baby needed rescuing from the dogs, and because this homestead has absolutely zero chill, we now have a new family member.

Everyone welcome Star to the chaos! ⭐️

Goats, chickens, rabbits, guineas, dogs… and now a barn cat.

Because why not? 🤣

They say that rain is a good thing, most of the time I tend to agree...

Except when youre trying to get things done on a homestead.
On the upside though, we will be at the Fort Smith Pride event downtown today selling soaps, eggs, handmade goods, jams, etc.

Weekend story time. 😂
This is Lucy.

Lucy is our resident chicken puppy. He will literally follow you anywhere around the homestead.

Checking the brooder? Lucy’s there.
Milking the goat? Lucy’s there.
Getting on the golf cart? Lucy’s already claiming a seat.

Well… Q had to run up to my parents’ house for something, and I get a phone call.

Q: “You’ll never guess who’s in your parents’ driveway!”

Me: “Who?!”

Q: “Lucy!!!”

Me: “HOW THE HECK DID HE GET OVER THERE?! Did he fly?! Did he walk through the woods to grandmother’s house?!” 🤣

We’re guessing this little floof hitched a ride somewhere on the truck, rode a mile down the road, then bailed off at the driveway like he had business to handle.

Then Q had to chase Lucy through tall grass, at dusk, catch him, and drive back home holding him like the tiny runaway criminal he is.

This place is never dull. Not even for a second. 😂🐔
