Hello and good morning city of hagerstown !

We are happy to announce a major step forward for Downtown Hagerstown

The city of hagerstown MD has decided to repurpose the Meritus park / flying box car stadium

Starting monday sept 16th ( end of 2024 season) the stadium will be temporarily repurposed as a homeless shelter.

The city has heard your pleas for an answer to the homeless rise. In recent years the city of hagerstown has been over run with homeless vagrants. For much of the last 10 years the designated homeless congregation point was the dual highway sheets RIP. Now that this sheets is gone the city had decided to repurpose the meritus park.

The facility will be temporarily outfitted in the field with bunking and outdoor recreations.

This will not interfere with the 2025 season. As the city anticipates completion of several new warehouses that will be converted for long term usage.

Some features of the meritus park shelter will be - clean drug usage rooms / out door recreations such as anti catalytic converter theft classes / chemistry and much more !

Please help spread the word that our city is taking leaps and bounds at solving the homeless

Warm weather is now upon us in hagerstown !

With season changes The city of hagerstown is also changing.

The city has now put in to affect an in town MOVE OVER OR GET PULLED OVER law. While the city works on funding for the new dirtbike lanes. This law is set in effect to protect our influx of riders.

See a dirt bike ? Move over and let them pass. This is an instant $100 ticketable fine if not caught moving over.

Hagerstown city council has heard your voices. In recent months safety concerns of dirt bike / off road vehicles on Hagerstown city streets has been a major issue. The city will be starting a new project this fall to install dirt bike / ATV lanes throughout the city. These lanes will be equipped with stop light triggers to allow light right away for the bike / atvs. Please be sure to stay courteous to our new dirt bike lanes !
