A histamine reaction after waxing is a normal skin reaction that occurs when the body releases histamine into the bloodstream to protect itself from the stress of hair removal.

The body perceives hair removal as a threat due to the fact that the hair is removed from the root level. The immune system kicks in and the body produces histamine to fight the threat as if it is an allergic reaction.

The histamine reaction can sometimes be a bit itchy, but that’s nothing a little cortisone cream can’t help!
