Gypsy An Russ and Joinedille Duncan back in the day. Two pioneering big wave charger girls who did it for the love without any fame, $ or facebook. (okay maybe we got a little $, but we still had to work) Love these sistas and I am pretty sure they are both still surfing. This was like my third or fourth season of boardshorts, but there were still very few people in the womenʻs boardshort buisness. I saw Mike Smith this morning at Magic Island checking the close out bombs @ Bowls. He worked with another local surfer girl that competed with me around that time and they were doing boardshorts too. It was pretty much me (Us Girls), Hapuna and Lassen for a little while in Hawai‘i before any of the big companies came on the scene and started producing surf wear. There was a brand called P**t (I think) in California who were making some cute boardshorts as well.
